NOTE: “As a result of the limited supply of Emergency Certificates available to the Consulate, these documents will only be issued in the case of a proven need for emergency travel to Jamaica. We apologize, in advance, for any inconveniences that may be caused by this situation.”
If you have an emergency and do not have a valid passport, you may apply for an “Emergency Certificate”. The Emergency Certificate is used primarily for travel to Jamaica and may be issued in cases where there is an unforeseen and immediate need to travel. Situations involving illness, death, loss of passport while travelling, or unexpected business travel would be considered an emergency. It is recommended that proof of the emergency be submitted with the application.
It should be noted that you will be required to complete a renewal or replacement passport application at the time of application for the Emergency Certificate.
Application Requirements
– Completed Passport Application Form
– Expired Passport
– Birth Certificate
– Marriage or Divorce Decree as Applicable
– Valid Photo I.D. (e.g. Driver License, Green Card)
– Completed Online Emergency Travel Document Form
– Two Passport sized Photos – (1 must be notarised)
– A printed copy of the Confirmed Travel Itinerary
– Money Order in the amount of US$90.00 made payable to the Consulate General of Jamaica – Miami
– All documents submitted MUST be ORIGINALS
– Processing time: 4 – 7 business days
If you have an existing Jamaican Passport Application and require an Emergency Travel Document for immediate travel;
Only the following is required:
– Completed Passport Application Form
– Completed Emergency Travel Application Form,
– Two (2) Photos, and
– A printed copy of the Confirmed Travel Itinerary.
For Applications – In Person at the Consulate, the following is required;
– Completed Passport Application Form
– Expired Passport
– Birth Certificate
– Marriage or Divorce Decree as Applicable
– Valid Photo I.D. (e.g. Driver License, Green Card)
– Completed Online Emergency Travel Document Form
– Two Passport sized Photos – (1 must be notarised)
– A printed copy of the Confirmed Travel Itinerary
– Cash or Money Order in the amount of U S$60.00 payable to The Consulate General of Jamaica – Miami
– Only ORIGINAL documents will be accepted
– Processing time: 5 Business Days
