DESCRIPTION:  \n  \n\n\n\n \nAttorney James F. Steckbauer\, spouse of Carmen Light. \nOn December 27\, 2018\, James died in the Mandeville Hospital in Jamaica; while he and  his spouse Carmen were on a Mission Trip and Vacation. \n“Jim” was born on December 15\, 1947 in Antigo\, Wisconsin. He graduated from The University of Wisconsin\, Stevens Point; later received his law degree from Atlanta Law School and practiced law in the Atlanta area. He spoke five languages and taught English\, Korean and German as a volunteer in his spare time. \nJim’s friends and family particularly enjoyed his witty repartee.  His favorite pastime was reading and singing German songs to children\, taking the dogs for a ride\, and listening to his favorite music.  \nJim was retired and is survived by his spouse\, Carmen Light\, of Lilburn\, Georgia. Son Timothy\, (Cindy) Steckbauer. \nHe is also survived by brothers William\, Kenneth\, Dennis\, Daniel; sisters Mary\, Ann\, Jane\, Susan\, nieces and nephews. Grandchildren Jessica and Megan. DESCRIPTION:The Jamaica Diaspora Advisory Board Members for the United States have by general consensus agreed to the joint convening of “ The Jamaica Diaspora USA Leadership Summit 2018 ”. This unified Summit represents a significant directional shift from the previous separate regional off-year conferences. This signals a new paradigm that although there may be nuisances unique to each of the three regions\, the time is now for collaboration among the regions\, laser focused and embarking on effectively increasing the capacity of the Jamaica Diaspora of the USA. This is an opportunity to meaningfully identify and leverage our resources to act uniformly as a Jamaican Diaspora to address the issues that uniformly affect us through the entire United States.
